Van Lang University (VLU), founded on January 27, 1995, is known as one of the very first private higher education institutions in Southern Vietnam. Named after the first state of Vietnam, Van Lang represents traditional Vietnamese values, historical significance, and patriotism. With the firm foundation built over the past two and a half decades, VLU has established the position and stature as one of the largest and most prestigious private universities in Vietnam. In serving the country, the core of our mission is to build capabilities and unlock full potential of learners, which enables them to embrace the leadership in their areas of fulfilment and bring inspirational impact to society. Van Lang has been recognized for excellence in educational quality, with multiple undergraduate programs accredited nationally and several more to be accredited internationally by AUN-QA and ACBSP. As a multi-disciplinary institution, VLU currently offers 62 undergraduate, 14 Master's, and 01 PhD programme in various fields, ranging from Finance, Business and Management to Arts and Design, Social Sciences and Humanities, Tourism and Hospitality to Engineering and Technology, Healthcare and Medicine.
Located in Ho Chi Minh City, the economic powerhouse of Vietnam, VLU has been attracting students from all corners of the country and abroad. Despite the diversification and relatively large scale, VLU still ensures that the student body of around 40,000 enjoys the best learning and life experience in their higher education journey. This is made possible thanks to unending enthusiasm of academic and support staff who are always caring to fulfil the students’ needs.
With the focus on holistic learning by experience, VLU designs the training curriculums and operation in accordance with this educational philosophy. Leveraging the prime location, VLU aims to develop the campus into a university complex, offering a modern educational environment for all students in line with international standards. For training purposes, we offer state-of-the-art facilities, including experimental labs, IT labs, automobile lab, art and music practice spaces, virtual reality room, medical center, and dental clinic, among others. The university also deliberately promotes students’ extracurricular activities by providing sport courts and fields, swimming pools, indoor gym, socializing spaces, and concert hall. In addition, we have established strong cooperation with about 1,000 industry partners that provide abundant practical internships and job opportunities. Besides, along the journey, students engage in multiple community programs, which enhances their experience through interaction with real world issues and people.
Over the course of development, VLU has developed robust partnerships with diverse international institutions for promoting the collaborations on research, joint training, studentand faculty exchange, and technology transfer. Until now, the university has established cooperation with 257 universities and research institutes from 24 countries and territories, with 47 agreements signed in the academic year 2020-2021 alone. VLU persists to go global in order to upgrade all aspects of the operation in line with world-class standards and successfully realize our vision.
