Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) is a private university located in Lima, Peru. It was founded on September 17, 1994, currently offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business, Engineering, Communications, Architecture, Health Sciences, Psychology, Law, Economics, Education, Design, Hospitality and Tourism, Contemporary Arts, and Translation and Interpretation.
UPC is licensed by SUNEDU, Peru´s national regulatory authority on education, being the first and only Peruvian university institutionally accredited by WASC, one of six regional accrediting agencies in the United States. In addition, UPC is the only Peruvian university accredited by SINEACE, Peru´s National System for Evaluation, Accreditation and Certification of Quality in Higher Education.
According to the 2021 MERCO ranking, UPC is the highest-ranking university in Peru. This ranking measures the overall reputation of an organization at national level. Additionally, UPC ranked for 8 consecutive years (2014 to 2021) first in internationalization according to the best Peruvian University Ranking of América Economía magazine, and for 5 years (2017 to 2021) ranked first in accreditation by América Economía magazine.
