Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP) , considered since 2012 as one of the best private universities in Mexico according to the ranking in the newspaper “El Universal”, currently has 73 licenciatura and graduate programs in
UDLAP has only one campus , located in Cholula , an ancient city of great cultural richness with unique scenery, traditions, and history, only 20 minutes from Puebla , the capital city of the state of Puebla that was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The campus is on a former 17th century hacienda, which is characterized by its architecture, gardens, and biodiversity. An international environment distinguishes UDLAP, with a multicultural community from around 60 different nationalities, 25% full-time professors from diverse countries, and the possibility of exchange programs with more than 30 countries .
The academic quality and integral formation of students is nationally and internationally supported by its accreditations , such as the one awarded by FIMPES (Mexico) and the one granted since 1959by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The latter was ratified at level 6 (the maximum possible),being only one of two universities outside the United States to have merited this distinction. This accreditation indicates that UDLAP has quality standards equal to those of the U.S.
In addition, UDLAP was the first one-campus university in Latin America, and thev only in Mexico, to obtain 5 stars in the international QS Stars audit, earning five stars in the categories of Teaching, Employability, Internationalization, Academic Development, Facilities, Arts & Culture, and Inclusion.
