Almaty Management University (AlmaU) is an entrepreneurial and socially responsible university located in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan. Since its establishment in 1988 AlmaU took the path of bringing innovative programs and projects to the market and developing an entrepreneurial spirit and a sense of social responsibility among students, faculty and impacted communities.

The University team sets a clear goal of making a meaningful contribution to the development of Kazakhstan via fruitful cooperation with the business, government and society. In its operations AlmaU incorporates the UN SDGs, through following the UN Academic Impact and UN PRME initiatives.

University’s impact within the society and development of social responsibility has been evaluated by Times Higher Education Impact Ranking, where AlmaU was ranked in the top 301-400. Every School has its own network of corporate partners, research centres and study laboratories in the areas of neuromarketing, kaizen, cyber security, media and public speaking, hospitality, design thinking, entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, management, education management and other business-related fields.

AlmaU offers the full range of programmes from Foundation, Bachelor, Master, PhD, MBA, EMBA, DBA to executive education programs in three languages: Kazakh, Russian and English. AlmaU promotes the concept of life-long learning and welcomes all ages and professional backgrounds to expand their knowledge and skill set. Along with the main study programme and employment, students and staff can learn another language on campus.

Internationalization

University holds strong connections with over 150 partner institutions and more than 20 associations worldwide. Main directions of cooperation are faculty and student exchange, double degree programs, joint international projects and research.

There are more than 150 international students coming from Central Asian region, as well as from Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Mali, Afghanistan, Mongolia, China, Ukraine. As a part of their study abroad programmes the exchange students come to AlmaU from partner universities in Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, France, Belgium, Austria, Russia, Tajikistan, and Turkey.

AlmaU promotes diversity and multi-cultural interaction. The AlmaU International Office offers international student support services: visa and registration, airport pick-up and accommodation search upon request, speaking clubs, orientation weeks, sport and event clubs, double degrees, joint and exchange programs, short-term trainings, summer and winter schools.

AlmaU attracts international experts for administrative, education, project development and scientific activities. Foreign teachers and researchers from Spain, Turkey, China, Italy and other countries run lectures on core and language programs. The University develops staff and faculty mobility programs (including Erasmus ), as well as visiting professors and PhD supervising programs.
