Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) is the first private university in Jordan. Established in 1989 to be a leading institute in higher education AAU is recognized and accredited locally and internationally, it is also a member of Arab, Islamic and international university unions.
The university is located in Amman, the capital of Jordan. Amman is a relatively modern city, being mostly a creation of the 20th century, yet it has become the fifth-largest city in the Arab world. As the country’s economic, industrial, and political centre, Amman is a surprisingly lively metropolis in the middle of an ancient region. The city’s location makes it an ideal place to explore the Middle East and experience the Arab culture first hand.
Al-Ahliyya Amman University makes every effort to maintain its prestigious reputation gained over the past three decades by achieving a number of goals that it has set within its plan to strengthen its leadership position as the first private university in Jordan and as one of the most prominent universities of high quality in higher education in the Arab world.

This act aims to meet the needs of students and to enable the University to play its role in promoting academic research, community services and to depict Jordan as a distinctive educational destination at the regional level.
